FREP is a large petrochemical enterprise jointly invested by Fujian Petrochemical Company Limited, ExxonMobil China Petroleum & Petrochemical Company Limited and Saudi Aramco Asia Company Limited with a total investment of approximately RMB 40 billion in a proportion of 50%: 25%: 25% respectively. It aims at building and operating a world-class high-tech integrated petrochemical facility. The company's refining capacity is 12 million t/a, and it is equipped with an 800,000 t/a ethylene cracking unit, a 700,000 t/a aromatics combined unit, a 300,000-ton crude oil dock, and a 600,000-cubic-meter transfer oil depot. The throughput of the dock is 18 million tons per year.

In 2017, the annual naphtha cooperation scale between FREP and Sinochem Petrochemical Distribution reached 300,000 tons, accounting for more than 50% of the total annual output of Sinochem's Quanzhou plant and over 70% of the total annual naphtha procurement of FREP.
