Main properties
It is a colorless, flammable, volatile liquid with micro toxicity and molecular weight of 120.19 and can be slowly absorbed through the alimentary canal, respiratory tract, and skin.
Main applications
It is mainly used as chemical material, solvent and paint thinner, and separated and purified to obtain three isomers, pseudocumene, triethylbenzene, and hemimellitene. Pseudocumene has higher additional value and can be used to synthesize trimellitic acid, trimellitic anhydride, and trimellitic acid trisester. Trimellitic acid trisester is mainly applied to 105℃ level heat resistant PVC wires and cables, medical apparatuses and instruments, food packages and heat resistant and durable boards, sheets, sealing gaskets, and other products. Triethylbenzene can be used for the synthesis of antioxygen 330. Hemimellitene is a major medical intermediate.
