Main properties
Colorless transparent liquid, with a fragrant smell, and toxic. It is water soluble, mixed soluble in ethanol, ethyl ether, chloroform, and most organic solvents, and inflammable.
Main applications
It can be used to synthesize purified terephthalic acid (PTA), dimethyl terephthalate (DMT), and used as the raw material of synthetic polyester fiber, resins, coating, fuel materials, and pesticide, and its downstream products are used to produce clothes, capsules for pharmaceutical purposes, mineral water bottles, etc.
